My name is Diane Goetz and I am a Personal Banker with American Bank & Trust.
I was born in Miller, SD, growng up on a farm, which I miss a lot. I have a strong love for animals and I had a lot of different “buddies” as I grew up. Dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, pigeons, and a white mouse Barney, just to name a few.
I attended Hand City country school, kindergarten through the 5th grade. Bussed to St Lawrence Elementary from 6th through the 8th and then attended Miller High School, graduating with high honors.
I was married shortly after graduating and divorced after 4 years. A few years later I met my husband Tim, in Akaska, SD, while there helping a friend on the weekends. He moved to Miller shortly after, where we have been for the last 34 years. We have a dog Oscar, two cats Sid and Abbie, 2 rabbits Quinn and Dixie and a few pet chickens. I enjoy hunting and fishing and anything else in the great outdoors, including camping, which takes up a lot of our summer. I also love to cook, which I share with others, including having numerous family and friend “get togethers”.
I started with Hand County State Bank in 1980, not quite a year after graduation, as a bookkeeper/teller. I have seen a lot of changes with the bank over the last 43 years, from changing owners to changing the bank name a couple of times to the many changes in policies and procedures. I really do like working with the people, meeting new faces, greeting our longtime customers, helping them to find the right products and making them feel that they are with someone they can trust. I enjoy when I can sit and visit with them to let them know how much they are appreciated and just get that comfortable, friendly atmosphere going. I feel pretty awesome when some just stop in my office to visit or just say “hi”.
We have a lot of products to offer our customers vs 40+ years ago, and my goal it to keep the hometown relationship and show our customers how much we appreciate them for trusting us with their financial needs.
