My name is Rachelle Carrels and I am a VP/Business Banker with American Bank & Trust.

I was born and raised in Milbank, SD. After graduating from Milbank High School, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from South Dakota State University (Go Jackrabbits!!).

While visiting my hometown of Milbank one summer college weekend, I met my husband, Brian Carrels, who was also in town with some of my high school friends for a Bulldog Golf Tournament.  We moved to Spearfish, SD right out of college and eventually moved back to Aberdeen, where we have been for the past ten years. Since then, our family has grown to include our twin three-year-old daughters, Aria and Harper, and our two dogs, Bella (Puggle) and Tika (Golden Lab). While I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, going on vacations and our weekly “Bachelor/Bachelorette” or “Golf League” nights with the ladies.

I’ve been with American Bank & Trust since December 2021. The community bank feel, streamlined processes we have in place and support from our leadership team makes the customer’s experience as smooth and timely as possible. This organization truly works as a team and values every single relationship with our customers/borrowers.
